World News - Tombstone on Hitler's parents' grave removed from ...

The tombstone marking the grave of Adolf Hitler's parents, Alois and Klara Hitler, was removed from an Austrian cemetery this week to deter neo-Nazi commemorations of the German dictator.

By The Associated Press

VIENNA -- The tombstone marking the grave of Adolf Hitler's parents, a place of pilgrimage for neo-Nazis, has been removed from an upper Austrian village cemetery at the request of a descendant, and the grave is now available to receive new mortal remains, officials said Friday.

Walter Brunner, mayor of Leonding village, said the stone with the faded black and white portrait photos of Alois and Klara Hitler was taken down Wednesday. Village priest Kurt Pitterschatscher said the rented grave was ready for a new lease.

Asked whether he would have trouble persuading people to let their loved ones share a grave with the parents of a man whose name is a universal epitome of evil, Pitterschatscher said, "I really haven't thought about it."

Pitterschatscher said the black marble marker was removed without ceremony by a stonemason hired by the relative, described as an elderly female descendant of Alois Hitler's first wife, Anna. What's left at the site is a white gravel square and a tree.

He said he did not know the woman personally and did not identify her by name but cited her request for termination of the grave lease as saying she was too old to care for it and tired of it "being used for manifestations of sympathy" for Hitler.

Flowers, wreaths from admirers
Hitler's roots are in Braunau, near Leonding, which is commonly identified as his hometown after the village that he was born in was incorporated into Braunau in 1938. But he and his family moved to Leonding in 1898 when he was 9 and lived there until age 15.

Leonding itself first assumed cult status for his followers after Hitler visited his parents' grave and the nearby family house following the 1938 annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany.

The house now warehouses coffins for the cemetery, and Brunner said in a telephone interview that ? unlike the more than 100-year-old grave ? it did not draw Hitler fans.

Jews protest Hitler shampoo ad in Turkey

Anti-extremist groups say neo-Nazis, sometimes coming in groups, placed flowers and Nazi symbols on the grave.

Robert Eiter, with the Upper Austrian Network Against Racism and Right-Extremism, said the latest incident was on All Saints day, Nov. 1, when an urn was left with the inscription "UnvergeSSlich" ? German for "unforgettable" and alluding to Hitler's SS shock troops.

"A lot of flowers and wreaths were deposited there from people who clearly were admirers," he said. "It had to do with the son and not the parents."

Brunner, the mayor, said he was "happy with the decision," and Eiter said most Leonding residents also supported it.

Austria has moved from its postwar portrayal of being Nazi Germany's first victim to acknowledging that it was Hitler's willing partner. Most young Austrians reject Nazi ideology and condemn the part their parents might have played in the Holocaust.

At the same time, the rightist-populist Freedom Party ? whose supporters range from those disillusioned with more traditional parties to Islamophobes and Holocaust-deniers ? has become Austria's second-strongest political force.

An Anti-Defamation League survey taken this year and published last week said that ? while remaining high ? anti-Semitic attitudes decreased from 30 percent to 28 percent in Austria last year compared to 2009.

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant started slowly. Once the NBA's highest scoring duo got going, they ran right through the Los Angeles Lakers.

Westbrook scored 36 points, Durant added 21 and the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder won 102-93 Thursday night for their fifth consecutive victory in the matchup of division leaders.

Westbrook was 2 of 6 in the opening quarter.

"The game got out of whack. It was my job to pick it up," he said. "We did a great job of defending and closing out the game."

Durant started out 1 of 9, describing it as "probably the worst I've played since I've been here but I kept fighting.

"They were all good shots. My teammates carried me and I started to make some shots."

The Thunder shot 46 percent, ending their streak of hitting 50 percent or better in their four previous games. They outscored the Lakers on second-chance points, had a 25-8 edge in fast-break points and grabbed 19 offensive rebounds.

"We did a pretty good job in the half court, but the offensive rebounds that gave them second opportunities and transition baskets killed us," Kobe Bryant said. "Every time we give up that many offensive rebounds, we lose pretty much every game."

Andrew Bynum had 25 points and 13 rebounds and Bryant added 23 points on 7-of-25 shooting for the Lakers, who have lost their last two at home and are 0-2 against the Thunder this season, including a 15-point road loss last month.

"The thing about Kobe is that he makes tough shots, and he didn't make them like he usually does," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Thabo (Sefolosha) did a good job forcing him away from his sweet spots and making him take tough shots."

Bryant viewed the game as a measuring stick against the West leaders, who are 39-12. The Lakers are third at 31-20.

"We were in that position a few years back. We had to struggle, fight, scratch and claw with teams in those positions, and we got to the playoffs and won a championship," he said. "Last year against Dallas, I think we beat them every time during the regular season. So it's all about how teams continue to improve during the course of the regular season."

Oklahoma City pulled away to open the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run that stretched its lead to 88-70 while Westbrook kept Bryant tied up offensively. Westbrook and Durant scored four points each in the spurt that had Laker fans booing.

The Lakers responded with a 14-4 run to close to 96-89, with Metta World Peace hitting two 3-pointers and Bryant not scoring. Westbrook and Durant missed shots, but they regrouped in time to score their team's final 10 points.

Westbrook scored 17 points in the third, when the Thunder dominated, 34-19, in taking a 78-68 lead into the final 12 minutes.

"Russell Westbrook established the tempo in the third quarter and he changed the pace of the game for them," Bryant said. "He's one of my favorites. He's developed his outside shot a great deal, and he went to the post a little bit as well so he's a problem."

Durant was limited to a lone 3-pointer while Westbrook scored at will, alternately slashing to the basket or hitting from the perimeter. His 3 beat the buzzer to end the quarter. Kendrick Perkins had 10 of his 12 points in the third.

"In the third quarter, he just came out, put his head down and went 1-on-4 and either scored or got fouled every time he came down the floor," Lakers coach Mike Brown said. "To give up 34 points in the third quarter the way we gave them up ... Oklahoma City didn't do anything tricky. All they did was come at us in transition and play pick-and-roll."

The Thunder weres limited to 36 percent shooting in the first half, when they trailed 49-44. The Lakers got off to a strong start, leading 30-18 after one quarter behind nine points by Bryant and eight from Bynum. Oklahoma City outscored the Lakers 26-19 in the second quarter and took off from there.

NOTES: The Thunder twice hit buzzer-beating baskets. Serge Ibaka had one to end the first half before Westbrook's 3 ended the third. ... The Thunder closed March with an 11-5 record. ... Former Laker Derek Fisher was welcomed back with two standing ovations in his first visit to Staples Center since being traded away recently. He had seven points in 16 minutes off the bench for the Thunder. ... Brown said someone opened a Twitter account in his name that has since been shut down. "It's a sign that I've made it," he said. "But I will never have a Twitter account. I promise."

Are the gadgets a boon, or a distraction? (AP Photo/Kevin Wolf)

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Medical student Gregory Shumer studied the electronic health record and scooted his laptop closer to the diabetic grandfather sitting on his exam table. "You can see," he pointed at the screen ? weight, blood sugar and cholesterol are too high and rising.

The man didn't reveal he was too nearsighted to see those numbers, but he'd quietly volunteered that he'd been ignoring his own health after his wife's death. The future-Dr. Shumer looked away from the computer for a sympathetic conversation ? exactly the point of Georgetown University's novel training program.

As the nation moves to paperless medicine, doctors are grappling with an awkward challenge: How do they tap the promise of computers, smartphones and iPads in the exam room without losing the human connection with their patients? Are the gadgets a boon, or a distraction?

"That's the tension I feel every day," says Dr. Vincent WinklerPrins, a family medicine specialist at Georgetown. The medical school is developing one of a growing number of programs to train new doctors in that balancing act, this one using actors as patients to point out the pitfalls ahead of time.

Across the country at Stanford University this summer, medical students will bring a school-issued iPad along as they begin their bedside training ? amid cautions not to get so lost in all the on-screen information that they pay too little attention to the actual patient.

Face your patient, excuse yourself to check the screen and put away the gadget when you don't really need it, say Stanford guidelines that specialists say make sense for physicians everywhere. And, of course, no personal Internet use in front of a patient.

"The promise of these devices to augment the delivery of clinical care is tremendous," says Stanford's Dr. Clarence Braddock. He uses a secure app on his iPad to pull up patient charts if he's called after hours no matter where he is.

Braddock helped develop Stanford's standards understanding there are different hurdles. Middle-aged doctors may be less comfortable with the technology and take longer with it. Younger ones who grew up texting while multitasking may not realize how intrusive patients might find the devices. Even Braddock has a confession: To his embarrassment, his phone once beeped an email alert about a sports tournament while he was with a patient.

It's not just a matter of etiquette. If the doctor spends too much of your 15-minute visit typing or staring at a screen, you have to wonder: What if I have a symptom that just got missed?

"If the screen is turned away from the patient, they don't know if you're looking at their electronic health record or playing solitaire or looking up stocks," notes Dr. Glen Stream of the American Academy of Family Physicians. A longtime user of computerized records in his Spokane, Wash., practice, Stream makes sure to show his patients what he's doing ? especially when seeing pictures on the screen can help them better understand a health condition.

Electronic health records, or EHRs, are considered the future of health care for good reason ? they can help prevent medical errors. For example, the systems can warn if doctors are about to prescribe a drug that could interact badly with another one the patient already uses. As these computerized charts become more sophisticated, they also have the potential to spur more efficient care: no more getting another X-ray just because you forgot to bring in your last scan if the doctor can call it up digitally.

About a third of doctors report using electronic records, double the number since 2008, says a report this month in the journal Health Affairs. Many more doctors are expected to adopt them by 2015 or face cuts in Medicare payments.

The challenge in the intimate exam room: Don't let the gadget distract from your main job, "which is helping patients with their lives," says Georgetown's WinklerPrins. He limits screen time in front of his own patients by typing notes into their charts after they leave.

Hence, the training for new doctors.

A group of actors gathered at Georgetown one recent morning, each there to play the role of an older diabetic seeking care for the first time since a spouse's death. WinklerPrins watched on a monitor outside the room as medical students conducted a 15-minute office visit. They used computerized records while giving each actor-patient test results, setting a treatment plan and sending an electronic prescription to the pharmacy.

Afterward, the "patients" offered valuable feedback. One was irritated that her would-be doctor got stuck e-prescribing and, her mind on the computer, kept repeating the same question rather than saying, "Give me a minute."

Down the hall, actor John Askew Sr. praised Shumer's bedside manner but explained the computer screen was too far away for him to see.

"If you said, 'Can you see?' I would have felt less disengaged," said Askew, from Washington's Maryland suburbs.

The students see the value of electronic health records but also how easy it is to be distracted with all the clicking and scrolling.

"When I have the computer, I may be less personable, but my notes are more thorough," Shumer, of Farmington Hills, Mich., told his professor. "It's easier to have a relationship when the computer is not there."

Hopefully, the systems will get less clunky, WinklerPrins responded: "We don't lose, in the meantime, the focus on the patient."

Can A Dumb Social Media Tool Turn This Chump Into the Internet's Top Mom? (Updated) [Klout]

There are a lot of services that purport to measure your online influence. Klout, Kred, and PeerIndex will slice and dice your social media presence, and turn you into a number. The higher your number, they argue, the more influential you are. It's bullshit. But it's bullshit that's increasingly accepted a serious currency. More »

Chrome OS coming to ARM?

ImageMany moons ago, Google made it quite clear we wouldn't be seeing its browser-based OS on any tablets or phones, but it never said Chrome OS wouldn't run on devices powered by similar silicon. In fact, the issues tracker at the Chromium OS project shows that work's being done to get Chrome OS compatible with ARM architecture, and in particular a Samsung Exynos 5250 chip. That Sammy silicon appears to be inside a new bit of hardware, codenamed "Daisy," but deeper digging failed to provide further details about the mystery device. While it certainly seems like Google's working on a new ARM-powered gadget, it's important to note that the Chromium project functions largely via user contributions, so the work might not be directed by Mountain View. You don't have to take our word for it, though. Head on down to the source link to see the evidence first hand, and feel free to form your own opinion.

Album Reviews: Tanlines, The Wedding Present, The Golden Boys, Xiu Xiu, and Herzog

Tanlines
Mixed Emotions
True Panther

It?s been a few years since the worldbeat craze swept the indie-pop world thanks to the unabashed influence that Vampire Weekend brought to the genre du jour with their 2008 self-titled debut. Yet, around that time, there was another band brewing a very similar recipe. Tanlines are a Brooklyn twosome that has been around since that fateful year, yet they have been much more reserved when it comes to releasing material. The fact of the matter is they?ve spent quite a while working on this first full-length, considering that one of the tracks, ?Real Life? has been on the internet since inception. Releasing an album has been a long, drawn-out undertaking for Tanlines, and the resulting product, Mixed Emotions, conjures, well, exactly what the title implies.

The first few tracks are, without a doubt, the strongest, and since they have yet to release anything formally, this record is a glimpse into the various directions their music has taken over the past few years. Here, Tanlines fluctuate from blatant Afro-beats swathed in sheets of synths on ?Real Life? to the definitively upbeat, dancefloor-friendly pop on ?Brothers? and ?All of Me,? which sounds a lot like Passion Pit redux, especially with the intermittent high-pitched background yelps. ?Green Grass? is a bit repetitive, but catchy nonetheless, with its straightforward guitars and sing-along-friendly lyrics set to a head-bopping beat. It?s an easy standout, as it?s one of the more successful dance songs on the album, probably because it?s not trying to be a dance song.

Aside from ?Real Life,? the world music comes to fruition on cuts like ?Abby? and ?Yes Way,? with syncopated beats set to subdued ?80s-influenced pop melodies. At least Tanlines utilize world beats in a less contrived way than Vampire Weekend, insofar that a twosome from Brooklyn could sound slightly more authentic than four Columbia grads. Elsewhere, everything just gets lost in the ether. Songs roll on top of one another, following the same pattern, and differentiation without easy identification becomes difficult. They all have punctuated drumming and keen rhythmic bases, but that?s where it stops mattering.

Yet, I have to give credit where credit is due. For two dudes screwing around, er, collaborating, the sound is much fuller than expected. Granted, they have help from technology, but it?s clear they have musical smarts. Though nothing groundbreaking, and certainly helter-skelter, Mixed Emotions, given the band?s relative non-productivity, is a solid step in the right direction. MP3: ?Brothers?

The Wedding Present
Valentina
Scopitones

A sassier man than I once said that ?the first time ain?t the greatest,? but when it comes to The Wedding Present, it?s hard to think of a bigger thrill than hearing Seamonsters for the first time. Being the romantic miserabilist that he is, head Weddo David Gedge would no doubt be inclined to agree. So though what the band and I have now will probably never be great as it once was, that doesn?t mean that we should give up, right?

Since Gedge resurrected The Wedding Present name in 2004, the band has been making records that, though they couldn?t approach Seamonsters, have been on par with the majority of its catalog. Recorded in France instead of in America with Steve Albini or Steve Fisk, as has been the case with most Wedding Present records, Valentina, the band?s eighth album, is the first instance where lethargy has entered the picture. The pointed declarations of ?You?re Dead? ring hollow, like poison darts stripped of their venom. Even the manic strumming of the subsequent ?You Jane? is less potent when matched with lyrics that lack the archness for which Gedge has always been known. ?Back a Bit... Stop? and ?Deer Caught in the Headlights? fare better, largely for their synaptic surges musically, but it?s still hard not to pine for the old magic. Maybe, it?s not The Wedding Present, it?s me, but with Valentina, I?m just not that into them.

The Golden Boys
Dirty Fingernails
12XU

Their reputation as a raucous party band precedes them, but what?s often overlooked about Austin?s Golden Boys is how talented they are at simply being old-fashioned songwriters. Nowhere is this more apparent than on their fifth full-length, Dirty Fingernails, a perfect combination of compositional smarts and energetic musical abandon.

Sure, The Golden Boys attack their songs with the rowdy energy typical of a punk rock pedigree, but the overall sound here owes more to organ-driven soul and pop, country and outsider singer-songwriter types than anything typically thought of as punk, or even garage for that matter. There?s a confident streak running through these 11 unruly tracks, as the quintet charges ahead with the cohesion of a road-tested band of brothers. And though the songs have a sturdiness to them that belies the tower of empty whiskey bottles, it?s also not hard to imagine them flying gleefully off the rails in a live setting.

For all their lovable loserdom, The Golden Boys remain talented songwriters in a surprisingly traditionalist mode. And while they?re not above getting a little weird (check out the psycho-babble Freudian nightmare of ?Daddy?s Horsewife? or John Wesley Coleman?s dusted ramblings on ?Didn?t I Tell Ya Babe?), by and large the Boys throw a great party that everyone should feel welcome attending. Their songs are filled with big hooks, boozy riffs and occasional hints of twang, and they often have a big, anthemic quality that can remind one of those champion self-saboteurs from Minnesota. But while The Golden Boys might share a certain ramshackle quality with the Replacements in theory, it?s with the Reigning Sound and Greg Cartwright that the band seems to have its most logical kinship. Both have a brilliant ability to suss out that ineffable quality that makes no-bullshit rock & roll so fun and so vital, and in the process they hold up garage-this and punk-that for the meaningless terms that they ultimately are.

Xiu Xiu
Always
Polyvinyl

Xiu Xiu is a confounding entity. As piloted by the only constant member, Jamie Stewart, the band has careened wildly through the music universe. With the band?s output sometimes synth and beat-driven and at other times either chamber-pop or acoustic in its approach, any Xiu Xiu fan has had to resolve himself to go along with the ride.

For all the sonic mind bumps, Xiu Xiu also has no problem with making really accessible, poppy songs. But those moments come in such fits and starts that they almost seem like accidents. It?s not that Xiu Xiu has to be a pop band, though Stewart shows a remarkable aptitude for it (see the Xiu Xiu cover of Rhianna?s ?Only Girl (In The World)? for proof). So the question seems to be which Xiu Xiu is showing up. From the opening ?Hi,? it appears that it is the one that loves synths. With the keyboards cranked up and Stewart?s voice in full quiver, the agenda is leftfield pop with an overlay of darkness. Lyrically, the album is grim, with a blend of personal and political woes. For example, ?Joey?s Song? purports to be about his brother?s domestic troubles, while ?Gul Muldin? concerns an Afghani boy killed by American soldiers. But that broad scope is to expected from Stewart. Still, Xiu Xiu seems as if they didn?t know where to take this record sonically so they hit a bit of everything. It?s almost like three separate records stitched together, and for an album that?s just less than 40 minutes, the disparity can be jarring and off-putting. But to be fair, listener comfort isn?t the main concern. Always isn?t a bad record, but it has moments so trying it may not be worth the effort.

MP3: ?Hi?

Herzog
Cartoon Violence
Exit Stencil

With Herzog?s debut, Search, largely made by singer and guitarist Nick Tolar on his own, it is with a good deal of satisfaction that I report that the band-made follow-up, Cartoon Violence, is every bit the record that it?s predecessor was. With a fifth non-playing member, Tony Vorell, writing lyrics, the Cleveland band manages the unique trick of writing songs with equal muscle and smarts, and the album owes as much to Thin Lizzy as any sensitive indie rock types.

This bi-partisan approach is evident from the get-go, with ?Fuck This Year? bursting out of the gates with rocket-fueled riffs and sharp lyrics on losing jobs to skinny white girls. ?You Clean Up Nice? is built from similar stuff, with fuzzy riffs matched to insidious lines and melodic hooks. Cuts like ?Dreaming Man? and ?Feedback? each take a different tack, with the former being a country-tinged lament that never favors twang over melody, and the latter an organ-driven romp that hearkens to ?60s pop masters and their subsequent heirs. One of many standouts, ?Your Son Is Not a Soldier? is an anti-war rant that while borrowing lines from Billy Bragg is personalized enough so as to not sound stilted (the back-up crooning helps too). If this rattling off of the album?s traits makes it sound like there?s a lot to like, it is because there is. Herzog have made the audial equivalent of a multi-vitamin, in that Cartoon Violence is loaded with all kinds of good stuff.

Wife's Facebook snooping results in 911 call, husband's arrest

By Rosa Golijan

Rosa Golijan/msnbc.com

When his wife refused to go to bed and let him browse Facebook alone, a Florida man called 911.?Unfortunately it turns out neither Facebook snooping nor spousal annoyances qualify as actual crimes, so the man was arrested on a charge of "misuse of 911." He now faces 60 days of jail time.

The Tampa Bay Times' Erin Sullivan reports that?57-year-old Doyle Hardwick first asked his wife to not sit next to him while he browsed Facebook, but she "told him she didn't feel like sitting anywhere else."?Undeterred, Hardwick "plied his wife with beer, hoping she would go to bed." Eight beers later, she still didn't feel like going to sleep.

According to Sullivan, a police report explains that Hardwick told his wife "if she didn't quit sitting next to him and go to bed, he was going to call 911 and the police were going to make her." She told him that he shouldn't do that, but he did anyway.

This isn't the first time Hardwick has been arrested for misuse of 911. In 2010, he repeatedly called 911 and asked to speak to someone "regarding neighbors defecating into old vehicle fuel tanks for the past three weeks."

Why Poor Customer Service Will Wreck Your Home Business ...

There are many important aspects

to running a truly successful home business online or from any other business location for that matter. One of the most important, but mostly overlooked is your customer service. Excellent customer service practices are a very essential ingredient to your business plan if your online business to survive and prosper. Poor customer service wants to wreck your home business.

Some reasons why you should have great customer service

One important thing that you should always keep in mind is that if it were not for your customers your business would not be possible. Customers wanting your products, service, or business is the life that your home online business needs to continue to grow in prosperity.

If your business is one that you want to operate online then you will have to take into consideration that you will have very little if any physical contact with your customer. This makes it much more imperative that you incorporate added ways to help your customers with a very high quality of customer service. You should also be aware that great customer service is a powerful motivator for your customers to pledge their return business as well as never-ending loyalty. It is not hard to understand that a person wants to go back to where Tend they received great service or where they feel the were treated very well. Providing excellent customer service is a good practice not only from a business point of view, it is also just good ethics, the right thing to do, ?do un to others as you would have them Thurs un to you? is a good way to gauge Whether Or Not Your customer service is measuring up to the high standards needed to keep your customers happy and satisfied.

Seven negative practices that will wreck your home online business

Detachment , lack of concern for your customer

It will pay for you to show that you are concerned about your customers needs, likes and dislikes. Everyone likes a little bit of concern and a show of interest. Never act like you are not interested in even the customers personal details like their profession and family status if possible. So never ?jump the gun? so to speak and try to solve their personal problems this is something that you know little about and is not your place and could lead to problems.

-hospitality

You should never make your customer feel as they are not welcome, make it uncomfortable for them to approach you, or contact you for any reason. Providing a hospitable essence to your online business customer service department by having a courteous understanding people to handle support request or support tickets is a good way to make your customer feel comfortable when they need to contact your business. Remember that different customers have different ideas of what it takes to be comfortable, so it up to you to make every effort to use the information that you have about your customer to meet individual customers needs that

Rudeness, bad manners

When handling any kind of interaction with your customer, Whether it is a personal face to face or email support request, or support tickets, being rude, showing bad manners, or arrogant nature will surely be one of the quickest ways to lose any chance for doing business or future business with your customers. You must transmit a cordial, friendly, and eager to help attitude to your customer as much as possible. Being confident but sincere will go along way toward Establishing a long term business relationship with understanding your customer.

Bad Attitude , poor mindset

Do not Forget just like you did your customer has good days and bad. Your obligation is not to convey your bad day on vibes to your customer. Everybody catches a bad mood from time to time. because you are working from home online you may not always be able to gauge your customers attitude or mindset from the support request or email that you receive from them. Because of that you should always treat your customers with a optimistic and helpful attitude. This goes a long way with helping your unseen customer feel better no matter what mood there maybe or whatever their problem. Just you keeping a positive attitude will help your customers day.

Ignorance , being blind to your customers needs

If you are ignorant to your customers needs, problems, likes and dislikes this in itself could wreck your online home business. Do not be fooled by taking this information lightly knowing your customer is of very high value and importance for the ultimate success of your business. Make sure you understand what it is that your customer wants listen to your customer carefully, what it is that they are asking you to do and then proceed to help satisfy them by providing your best effort to resolve their request. Do not presume that you already know the answer to your question before you have customers fully understood it. This ignorance will only cause customer dissatisfaction and needless hassles on part of both your customer and yourself.

Inaccessibility , not able to be found when your customer needs you

One of the most aggravating things that I can think of to happen to me when dealing with a customer support department online businesses is not being able to contact the business for help or getting no answer to my help request, then when I do finally get a response, the person handling the request is so arrogant that it makes you ask yourself ? why did I ever buy this product from this guy? Then I make sure to immediately make a mental note to never do business with that company again. For customer your not able to be to get in contact with you is one of the most frustrating things in doing business online. If this is how you handle your customer service you will loose customers, you want to wreck your home business. Make it a priority that your customer service is quickly available when your customer needs help. Make sure you have given them enough working links to be able to locate you easily. It is part of your business to continue to help your customer to fix any problems with your product or service after the sale has been made.

invalidation , make sure you keep your word

Always keep your word quickly about promises or things that you tell your customers you will do. Make sure that your product or service performs as advertised. If you are unreliable, not able to keep your word or your product or service dose not perform as you said it wants to, then you are on the road to a lot of complaints and unhappy customers. You will also destroy any chance of you building a reputation of trustworthiness or reliability on the internet, This is a definite killer online business. It will stop your customer from ever wanting to deal with you again. This is crucial, always keep your word by doing what you say you want, making sure your product or service delivers the goods, and make sure that the quality is as high as you said it will be. This will safeguard a good and positive interpersonal relationship in the future for you and your customers.

The main thing to gather from this article is that poor customer service will wreck your online home business. If you are doing any of the negative customer service practices mentioned above, divorce them from you online home business. Please take the time and effort to adopt the best customer service principals and practices, then use them when your customers need you. It will benefit both you and your customer now and for your successful future. id=?article-resource?> ? Food Sources of Natural Cancer Fighter

Food Sources of Chlorophyll: green salads, green vegetables, fresh and dried wheat grass, barley grass, Kamut grass.

Cancer related Benefits: Chlorophyll probably has powerful anti-cancer properties.

It has potential to stimulate red blood cells to

provide oxygen supply.

The research as currently understood suggests that a chlorophyll derivative, chlorophyllin, prevents RNA &?DNA?damage caused by aflatoxins ? a type of cancerous fungi.

?

Food Sources of natural immune substances: mushrooms f.e. ABM, maitake, Hericium, shiitake, mushroom drink soup, onion, shallot, any kind of onions, citrus fruits, enzyme rich fruits e.g. papaya, pineapple, fig, salads and vegetables with a lot of chlorophyll, sprouts, pear, sun choke, tomato.

Cancer related Benefits: Several foods have direct benefits to kill cancer cells f.e. mushrooms, onions. A powerful immune system is known as an natural cancer fighter.

?

Food Sources of Carotinoides with Vitamin A-Activity: all yellow, orange and green fruits & vegetables e.g. carrots, pumpkin, carrot juice, papaya, mango etc. .

Cancer related Benefits: Some researches say that vitamin A/provitamin A? is able to change cancer cells and can also prevent normal cells from becoming cancer.

Vitamin A/provitamin A makes antibodies more responsive to various kinds of infections, increases the rate at which macrophages engulf and destroy bacteria and stimulates Natural Killer (NK) cells.

?

Food Sources of Indol-3-Carbinol: all sorts of cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, broccoli sprouts.

Cancer related Benefits: I-3-C can combat breast cancer and other hormone related cancer types by converting a cancer-promoting estrogen into a more protective variety.

Cancer related Benefits: Quercetin is a water-soluble plant pigment called a bioflavonoid. The anti-cancer activity of quercetin has been the subject of several promising studies. Quercetin reduces ATP (the main source of energy) thus the cancer cells are unable to metastasize.
In order for cancer cells to metastasize they require cellular energy. The main source of this energy in the body is produced by ATP. Quercetin blocks the ATP uptake (synthesis). Thus the cells will no longer have the necessary energy to spread/grow.
Food Sources of Benzaldehyde Derivate: fresh and dried figs, almonds, almond milk.

Cancer related Benefits: Figs contain ficin a digestive enzyme and figs are also rich of a derivate of benzaldehyde an anti-cancer compound.

Dried or/and fresh figs have a good sources of dietary Insoluble and soluble fiber necessary for our intestine health. Almonds are a good sources of benzaldehyde as well. Both foods are very alkaline and ideal for a cancer diet.

Why physicians lack confidence in nurses | Scrubs ? The Leading ...

Hamera | Thinkstock

For those readers who follow me on Scrubs, or if you found me via social media circles, you know how big of a nurse advocate I am. I consistently praise and endorse our profession. I hold in very high regard the brave souls who work the trenches every day and every shift. Our job is not an easy one and not everyone can do it. Quite honestly, not everyone has the cojones for nursing.

But there?s an inherent problem with the performance and responsibility of our fellow professionals: No two nurses have the same function. I?m not talking about a ?good? versus ?bad? nurse?I?m referring to the expectations of a nurse as a healthcare professional.

The only way I can explain myself is by making a comparison. Unfortunately an equal comparison to another profession does not exist. My problem becomes exponential due to the very nature of the qualifications, education and training differences that exist among newly registered nurses.

This argument is further complicated by simple nomenclature, since the very word nurse translates into many different definitions, depending on the reference. Nurse?can refer to a CNA, an LPN or an RN. And even then, things get fuzzy?an RN can have a 2-year diploma degree, a 2-year associate?s degree or a 4-year bachelor?s degree. Are you still with me so far?

This is what is wrong with nursing: the inaccuracy. Only those who work with nurses can truly understand the difference between the above vocations. Oh, wait. That brings up yet another source of confusion: Is nursing a vocation or a profession? A vocation is an occupation that does not require advanced education or specialized training, while a profession requires specific training, education and continuing education. Nursing seems to suit both these needs and definitions.

Are you confused yet?

Good?so is everyone else who is NOT a nurse. This includes most healthcare professionals, especially physicians! I can tell you from experience that most physicians do not have a firm grasp of what the requirements are to become a nurse.

After all that garbled discussion, I still have to explain what is wrong with nursing. Now back to my original point. No two nurses function the same. In essence, when you depend on the nurse to perform their responsibilities to their fullest, the outcome of your expectations is entirely dependent on which person is on shift at the time. During one shift everything may get accomplished or addressed, while on another shift the infamous ball inevitably will be dropped.

This is a major source of disdain among coworkers and is THE source of physicians? lack of confidence in our wonderful profession. I?m not sure why it happens, or how it happens, but many nurses lose the ability to cognitively navigate through a problem. Instead, most will reflexively react to a result.

They pound this little concept called critical thinking into our brains as basic nursing students. We have to develop the skill over time, with experience and guidance. Yet we lack the consistency to see it develop. It seems to be spread out like Swiss cheese throughout our profession?and it?s that ?Swiss cheese? that I believe is the problem with nursing.

I?m still trying to figure out how we as a profession can solve this problem and fill the Swiss cheese holes?but so far I?m coming up empty-handed. Anyone care to weigh in?

Curtains for Humphries' Dame Edna Everage

Australian comedian Barry Humphries said Sunday he would retire iconic character Dame Edna Everage, a gaudy lilac-haired parody of suburbia, because he felt a "bit senior" and was ready to move on.

Everage, along with the lecherous and boorish Sir Les Patterson, are Humphries' best-known characters, but the veteran comedian, 78, said his current tour would be their last stage outing.

"Edna will crop up on television I guess but not in a live show," Humphries told Australia's Sunday Telegraph newspaper.

"The fact of the matter is that I'm beginning to feel a bit senior.

"It's the best aerobics you could do, leaping around on stage, but it's gruelling when there are other things to do."

Everage took to Australian television Sunday night to personally confirm her farewell tour.

"I'm not leaving the stage, you'll never drag me off the stage, but to do these productions, I couldn't keep it up," she said.

"I've got so many international obligations, I have the prostate Olympics coming up -- that was my own idea -- and I'm doing a lot of work for my pet charity now, the deviated septum."

Humphries' turns as Everage and Patterson saw him achieve international renown, particularly in Britain where he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2007 for services to entertainment.

He also won a special Tony award for a live theatrical event in 2000, "Dame Edna: The Royal Tour" through North America.

Everage was first conceived when Humphries toured southern Australia as a young actor in the 1950s and evolved from drab housewife to a self-proclaimed "gigastar" parody of celebrity best known for her catchphrase "Hello Possums."

She went on to host her own 1980s talk show, "The Dame Edna Experience", which attracted an array of luminaries including Sean Connery, Charlton Heston, Mel Gibson, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Dusty Springfield and Chubby Checker.

Her 1990s talk shows, "Dr Dame Edna Kisses It Better" and "The Dame Edna Treatment" were just as star-studded, with guests ranging from actors Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen to Shane Warne and Ivana Trump.

Sporting her trademark horn-rimmed glasses and wisteria curls, Everage even had a cameo as Claire Otoms -- an anagram of "A Sitcom Role" -- in American TV series Ally McBeal.

Vanity Fair received death threats after she penned a satirical column about learning Spanish which drew the ire of actress Salma Hayek, prompting the magazine to publish a full-page apology to the Hispanic community.

Everage also starred in the closing ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games, held in her home town of Melbourne, and she is seen as one of the most enduring comic figures of modern times.

The coarse and vulgar Patterson came later, first appearing in a Humphries stage show in 1974 and evolving into a caricature of Australian diplomats abroad at a performance in Hong Kong.

Best known for his offensive behaviour, which includes belching, flatulence and nose-picking, the buck-toothed, grubby "late cultural attache to the Court of St James" also has a devoted following.

Announcing that his current tour of Australia would be his last live stage show, Humphries -- who is also a prolific author -- said he had a "contract to write another book" and there were "places I want to go, things I want to do."

He recalled seeing performers as a child who had "outlived their shelf life" and about whom it was said "you should have seen him when he was funny".

"I want to avoid that being said about me and know that I can't keep doing it," Humphries said.
