I went to a fantastic business networking event last Friday. Thankfully the weather was cold, crisp and sunny unlike today?s diluge!
This unique and fun business networking event was organised by local IT support company, Projectfive in aid of Surrey Wildlife Trust, and invited local business owners to network, help the charity clear Borossa Common near Camberley of some of the invasive Scots Pines, and get their own fresh Christmas Tree to boot. Plus there was Winter Pimms, roast chestnuts and mince pies to keep our energy levels up!
Even my Labrador, Tarn could come along. So it was perfect multi-tasking ? business networking, get the Xmas tree sorted, walk the dog, and help and support a local charity!
Sometimes when I speak to new business owners they find the prospect of business networking a little daunting and feel it is going to be really boring and stuffy. It is a really great marketing technique to raise your local profile and promote your new business. So I say find the type of networking that you enjoy being part of, and you will find it a much more beneficial and enjoyable experience all round.
There was no stuffy or formal handing out of business cards to all and sundry last Friday. But plenty of fun networking went on!
And here is my small but perfectly formed and now very sparkly Christmas Tree!
Thank you Projectfive and Surrey Wildlife Trust.
Merry Christmas to you all!
